The classes at Acute Healthcare Institute are designed to provide students with the necessary skills to become a vital part of any dynamic healthcare team.
Phlebotomy Technicians are medical professionals trained to draw blood using venipuncture. Phlebotomy Technicians are important members of the health care team and often need to explain the blood-drawing procedure and put patients at ease.
Acute Healthcare Institute offers a 4-week class, taught in hybrid format that is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become an entry level Phlebotomy Technician. In this class you will learn how to perform venipuncture (draw blood), capillary sticks (finger sticks) and how to obtain specimens.
During weeks 1-3 students will complete all reading, assignments and test online and come for in-person, hands-on skills lab every Thursday 8:30am-12:30pm. During week 4 students will come for in-person, hands-on skills lab Monday—Thursday 8:30am-12:30pm. Students will be required to participate in drawing blood on each other in order to provide our students with exceptional hands-on training.
The cost for this class is $950. A payment plan can be arranged with $310 down payment (includes the $150 non-refundable registration application fee) and $160 weekly payments starting the Friday before the first day of class. The down payment reserves your seat in the class. All costs must be paid on time, prior to attending the in-person skills labs.
