Medical Assistant
Students who successfully complete the Clinical Medical Assistant class at Acute Healthcare Institute will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Upon successful completion of program requirements, students are prepared to take the national certification examination to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with National Healthcareer Association (nhanow.com)

Clinical Medical Assistants primarily work in medical offices where they obtain vital signs, assist medical practitioners with clinical exams, and administer medication. Medical Assistants are important members of the healthcare team. They can perform both administrative and clinical tasks.
Acute Healthcare Institute’s Clinical Medical Assistant class is 12 weeks long delivered in a hybrid format.
During weeks 1—10 students will complete reading, assignments and tests online and come in-person for hands-on skills labs and simulations with expert instructors on scheduled dates.
During weeks 10-12 students will go to a medical office to complete 80 hours of hands-on clinical experiential learning/externship.
The cost of this class is $1850. A payment plan can be arranged with $315 down payment (includes the $150 non-refundable registration application fee) and $260 every 2 weeks. The down payment reserves your seat in the class. All costs must be paid on time, prior to attending the in-person skills labs and clinical experiential learning site for externship.
Admission requirements: All applicants must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma/GED and must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

2. US government issued photo identification (ie. driver’s license)
3. Social Security card
4. Clear background check
5. Negative TB skin test or Chest X-ray
6. Negative Drug Screen (when requested)
7. Physical (when requested by facility)
8. The payment of registration application fee and arrangements to pay program cost.
9. Signed admissions application, enrollment documents
10. Solid black scrub uniforms (purchased by student)
11. Proof of immunization:
a. 3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccination (titer as proof of immunity or sign waiver)
b. 2 doses of Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer as proof of immunity)
c. 2 doses of Varicella (titer as proof of immunity or documented proof of chicken pox)
The following may be required by the facility: proof of Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years, Influenza (during flu season September to March), proof of COVID vaccination, proof of health insurance
